Just wanted to share a few fun things that we have been working on for everyone!
Here's an list of whats new and what you can expect from these updates.

-Survival-
Catacombs - SIX dungeons for everyone to crawl have been added to the map! They are remote, they are tough to find, they are tough to crawl but full of hidden doors and rooms and you will be rewarded with money and lots of loot for the fun that ensues! You will find the Tomb of Saron, Brimstone Crypts, The Mausoleum of Ruin and more! Make sure to share your stories on the forums when you start locating the Dungeons...and remember the best loot is in the final room which also contains a reset this Dungeon button ;)

Chairs - We know that you all love using stairs as chair while decorating. Well now you can really sit down on them! Just hold Shift and right click while looking at your chair (step) and you will really take a seat!

LWC - LWC has been added for donors as an extra way to protect your doors, chests, traps doors , etc. Knights will have the ability to lock 2 items, Hero's can lock 4 items and Chiefs can lock 8.

-Skyblock-

Shops - Adding a few things to the shops today.

Kits - Per the request of many we will be adding another kit on Monday.

-Hunger Games-
The hunger games plugin and server underwent many changes and updates recently.
Its now running smoother and with less lag than ever before. We also updated the VIP kit to include a wooden sword.

Will have more updates soon for the Creative, Games and Faction servers.

For starters, The website will undergo some major changes this weekend! We have been working for quite some time on it and we hope you all enjoy the new look that it will bring. Secondly we built a new mini-games server! It has a nice new hub that holds lots of new games and a few more to come. currently we have Spleef, Paintball, Capture The Flag, Infected and PvP Arenas. The PvP arena will be replaced with mob arena very soon though =) We are also thinking about adding the walls for even more excitement!

Thirdly we created a new  Hunger Games server! There are now 3 hunger games servers! This will help reduce any lag people have had over that and allows us to bring in  maps to play on more often!  Hope you all enjoy playing the changes and soon we will be hosting competitions in the game servers, against the staff for prizes. So keep a look out on the website for server events and watch the broadcasts on the servers.

Whicked has recruited me to run some contests, events and to generally make your MineAlot experience a better and more memorable one. 

Some things you will see in the upcoming few weeks will be races on SMP, build contests in a separate creative world, and many battle-the-staff events between the hunger games servers, and the new mini-games server. I hope that you all enjoy the events, that the staff and I have to offer you here at MineAlot.

With that being said, let's start this off right with a nice build contest! 
This first build contest was chosen by Whicked himself. The theme of the contest will be ENTERTAINMENT!!! What he would like to see is your best redstone game creation, parkour course, or arenas of all kinds. Which can include, boat races, pig races, paintball, pvp arenas, horse races or you can even create an automated fun house of sorts. 

Rules:

1. Only plots in the competition world will be accepted. To access it, simply stand in creative spawn and type /warp comp or click on the sign that will be placed there. Use the /plotme auto command to receive your 75x75 plot.

2. All plot entries must have only been built by the plot owner. No team builds are allowed for this competition.

When you are done creating your entry, please place a screenshot of it into the gallery album marked "Entertainment Build Contest" and leave your username in the comments section. Please post your plot number and x,z coordinates under the forum post.

The contest runs from the time of this post until Saturday, June 15th. Where they will be judged by staff. That gives you 2 weeks!

The first place winner of the build contest will receive a $20 dollar steam card and your build will be used in a public place.
Our second place winner will receive $25 dollars to use in the donor shops. 
Third place winner will receive $15 dollars to use in the donor shops.

Also I have made a post on forums asking for any suggestions or ideas on what you would like to see here or have changed about MineAlot. I'm open to all suggestions. I'm trying to get a better idea of what you guys are looking for in forms of entertainment. No idea is to big or to small. Minecraft 1.6 Update!






Another update you ask?  Well that's true...but wait!  It won't be for another month or so.  Minecraft is updating to version 1.6.  This update will have of course tons of new stuff, blocks, bug fixes and at least 2 new mobs.  That's right...2 new mobs so far!

You've been asking for them so Mojang is putting horses into Minecraft.  You can have horses and donkies and mules.  The horses can use armor (all the way up to diamond) and the donkey's / mules actually have a useable chest attached to the mob.  This means that armed combat and help carrying your gear to a new base is now possible.

There are also hints that Minecraft may be adding seasons and even deadlier original mobs.  Zombie hordes you say?  Just wait :)

Hello everyone! We are coming up on our 1st Birthday here at MineAlot on the 27th of May so there are some changes that are going to happen on our servers in the following couple of weeks. Expect to see some new changes that started with the new Hub/Cloud last night that can be seen on the post below this one. You can expect the spleef sever to transform into the mini games server! You can count on creative returning soon! You can also plan on a newly designed hunger games lobby and updated server configuration to help eliminate any lag! We will be having some fun random parties and events so keep your eyes open for more details on those. Also watch for coupon codes for discounts in our donor shops. There will be many ways to celebrate our first year of providing you with some of the best builders, servers, and staff around!

Just a quick note for everyone to wake up to! Over night we got the new Hub/Cloud up and running for everyone! When you login you will find yourself in the new amazing new hub. In the new Hub you can fully explore the entire area while getting a little parkour in, never know what an adventurer might find new from week to week on those islands. We also enabled a speed boost and jump boost for an extra level of fun while killing sometime between servers. Give a special thanks to the build team/design team for an great job. Hello Miners!


We have great news! It's the beginning of a new month, and we are finally ready to release the new Survival server, The new and improved Creative server, and the new and improved donor shops! We are always trying to improve things for everyone and with that, we figured why not kick it all off at the same time! Check the image above for two of the amazing new towns from the survival map! This is only a quick announcement, but visit Full Change-Log Link for all of the changes in more detail!

SMP Changes and Map

We have worked very hard on the new survival map, and we are confident we will redefine the way you play survival Minecraft We have several towns that you can join right from the beginning, each different from the others, and known for their local treasures! We know some people still want to be independent or even start their own towns, which is still possible, but you have the option to join an amazing town from day one. Towns are now subject to rising and falling. If you don't keep up with your town, it may fall from grace, and your citizens may leave you! We have even massively changed all of the donor ranks, and slashed prices! Be sure to check it all out!

Creative Changes

Creative went down some time ago, and we know you have all been itching to get back online, so here it is! We have tweaked everything to help with a better creative experience. We even have a world full of all your old creations, just to admire them one last time before you move on! We want you to build to your hearts content, so that's why we offer such a great server! We believe that you deserve the best server we can provide, so we waited until the server was perfect before we released it!

Donor Shop Changes

The donor shop has always been across multiple pages, so here is what we are doing to remedy that! We are cleaning everything up, and all of the shops can be found on one page! And all of the shops are now hosted within our own network! This ensures all of your purchases are delivered within 5 minutes of your purchase. You can even buy when offline, and when you log-in, you will receive your perks! In addition to the sleek new design of the shops, we have easy to use upgrade shops. These are right above the regular donor shop, but only appear if you have a rank for that server already. We even slashed prices on several shops, to make sure everyone has access to these great services!

Good Day Miners:


Today we have heard your issues and after looking into it carefully, we cannot fix the damage easily other than resetting the world. We know that is the last thing you want to hear, so here is the solution. We will transfer some islands to the new map, as long as they fit the requirements.

Why do we need a map reset?


Because due to some recent issues, islands were overlapping other islands, and causing users to not be able to access their island. This means that the map is no longer good, but we do have a backup of the world that will have most user's SkyBlocks on it, and can be transferred easily by our staff members. This is the best solution for both the players and the staff members.

When is this reset?


TODAY! We have to reset very soon, so we will have the new world today. We still have the backup, and will pull the SkyBlocks from them as soon as we can. Visit this SkyBlock Transfer Request and follow the instructions there. We appreciate everyone understanding this change and remember, we will not honor in game or commented requests! They MUST be in that forum on the format that was specified and MUST meet the requirements!

Creative Server

The MineALot creative server is currently down, due to some issues with the plug-in deleting all of our creative plot info. This does not mean that your builds are gone, we still have every build on the server. We will allow a world download of the creative server for anyone who wants to get it, and some plots will be transferred to the new creative server when 1.5 is completely updated.

We appreciate your patience as we transfer over our creative server. We have a lot more news that we cannot release yet, but keep updated as we will release more news here soon!

Good Morning Miners!

We know you are all excited to play the newest version of Minecraft, however MineALot will not update to 1.5 until all of the essential server plug-ins are updated! This means if you wish to play on MineALot, you cannot update your Minecraft until we announce that we are officially upgraded. Our staff will be scouring the webs all morning to get this update out as soon as we can! When we update, some plug-ins may be disabled until we upgrade them.


 

On a side note...

We have officially migrated to BuyCraft. This means that all donations will be applied within 5 minutes of your donation. It will also announce to the server that you donated, letting all your friends get jealous of your shiny new rank! Your rank will be applied only when you are logged into the server you have donated for.

Good Day Miners!


We have been working very hard over the last few days to bring you our very own MineALot TeamSpeak server! We are now licensed to privately host our own TeamSpeak and we can now hold up to 120 users, and upgrade it at any time! This brings many new features with it, so here is a quick rundown!

What is TeamSpeak?

Teamspeak is a chat room that we utilize to communicate with each other. We all love to type to each other in game, but isn't it much easier to just talk to your friends? The best part is that it is completely free to download and use for you guys! You can download TeamSpeak 3 from the TeamSpeak 3 Downloads Page. You can connect to the new TeamSpeak by using ip ts3.minealot.com and password minealot.


Why did we switch? What's new?

Good Questions! We now have 120 user slots, more customization for rooms, and more control over the TeamSpeak! This also allows us to make personalized rooms for users! That's right, soon we will give users the ability to donate for a room all to themselves and anyone they wish to add to it for only $2.99 a month! This room will be locked by a password that you can give to all your friends, and can be changed at any time. These can be used for Factions, SMP towns, Hunger Games or any other reason you like!


Hop on and join us in TeamSpeak today! We will be sure to welcome you with open arms, and keep on the lookout for personal rooms, which will be live in the next two days!

Sat, 09 Mar 2013 09:31:00 -0500 http://www.minealot.com/home/article/1341939/m/4732119 http://www.minealot.com/home/article/1341939/m/4732119 O.k. we are back up and running.  There was an unexpected problem on the back end of the server.  While we were fixing the coding, we made an executive decision and decided to clean up some of the code, and streamline everything while the server was already down.  Reason for this is to get the developers on the same page to continue to provide all of our players with the ultimate Minecraft experience.
NOTE!  Due to the problems, we had to roll back every server TWO days.  We sincerely apologize for your lost items, votes and lost time on your builds.  We will NOT give you any items, fix builds or make up for anything which was lost.  Please do not ask any staff for any lost items, blocks etc...if you continue to argue with staff you will be muted for 24 hours!  Again, we apologize for your lost time but because of this downtime the server will continue to run smoothly for a LONG time.
